⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“After all， vampires know better than anyone how important it is to protect their hearts。 And love， understand， is sharper than any stake。”•Enemies to lovers to enemies •slow burn， lots of tension •vampires & gods•blood trials full of pain and death Buckle up for this one because this story was a wild ride for me。 I loved the introduction。 There are a lot of tropes here that just piece together so perfectly。 Little things from other books we all find comfort in that were done beautifully ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“After all， vampires know better than anyone how important it is to protect their hearts。 And love， understand， is sharper than any stake。”•Enemies to lovers to enemies •slow burn， lots of tension •vampires & gods•blood trials full of pain and death Buckle up for this one because this story was a wild ride for me。 I loved the introduction。 There are a lot of tropes here that just piece together so perfectly。 Little things from other books we all find comfort in that were done beautifully。 I don’t even know how to describe it。 I struggled for the beginning of the book。 Each interlude for a section was so good and I loved the style it was written in。 However， the building was kind of choppy and it took me well over half the story to start to understand how the world was set up between the kingdoms。 I also struggled to feel any kind of relation to the characters for some of it too。 They just felt very blah。 It took about 13 chapters to feel a turning point， once we started getting to the trials portion of the book。 From there everything kind of fell into place。 Character personalities flourished， the storyline picked up， the problem of the story started to reveal itself。 The last 25% of the book is absolutely everything。 We finally see a crack in the tension between Oraya and Raihn。 Not long and then it’s pulled away again but enough to keep us going along and reminding us that there is romance in this book。 The final trial and the fucking plot twist at the end。 Did I cry？ YUP！ Did I get angry afterwards？ Fuck yes。 I had theories along the way and while some of them were partially accurate， there were still aspects to them that I didn’t see coming。 I cannot wait to see what happens in the next book。 - - - - - - - - I did a tandem read， so I used Whispersync to follow along for parts of the book and others just audible in general。 My only complaint is the narrator。 She just didn’t fit， or at least for me she didn’t fit。 There were moments that she would read a line and the tone didn’t fit the story。 When Raihn is trying to be flirty or Oraya is angry， I shouldn’t be getting elementary school teacher during circle time。 I think this might be the first time I’ve felt I’ve had a narrator not fit for a book。 。。。more

okay throne of glass lovers need to read this。 the vibe was not really giving acotar & it was more a TOG/FBAA/hunger games vibe。 but it was excellent & the next book comes out tomorrow and I WILL be purchasing her on my kindle。 I love raihn， sorry！ sue me！ What is life for if not reading as many 500+ page fantasy romance books as possible :）

This book checks every single box for me。 Her world building is expensive but not overwhelming。 The characters are well rounded and not perfect。 The action is descriptive but not convoluted。 I will say my subconscious was looking for hints of Tisaanah and Max because my heart wants a multiverse。。。but this might be my favorite and I adored the Daughter of No Worlds series。
